Who I Am
I'm Anders Hus Folkedal. I grew up with computers in the 1980s — long before they were everywhere. But I never learned to code. Instead, I spent my time gaming, exploring, pushing limits — building relationships with digital worlds.
I graduated with a Master's degree in Landscape Architecture in 2009 and quickly began thinking about how to bridge the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) world with the creativity of gaming.
Over the past decade, I've researched how to bring real terrain into game engines — accurately, efficiently, and at massive scale. At the same time, I dove deep into the hidden infrastructure of GIS: projections, streaming data, file formats — and developed my own workflows using multiple tools just to get the job done.
I've used that knowledge to build huge digital landscapes — pulling in mountain ranges, valleys, and entire urban areas — and shaping them into living digital worlds.
Why Now
In 2022, I discovered AI. And I quickly realized: I could go further.
Automate steps. Brainstorm faster. Build smarter.
That's when TerraTopic began to take shape.
The mission became clear: To take everything I've learned
the hard-won knowledge
the lessons from past challenges
and the hidden techniques
and build them into the tools themselves.
So you don't have to walk the same long road I did.
